Howard F. Jones, 66, of Middletown, husband of Joyce Jones, passed away on Thursday, February 4th at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Stratus F. and Elizabeth Jones.
Howard lived in Middletown all of his life and was a member of Cross Street AME Zion Church. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam War, worked as a computer operator at Aetna Life and Casualty for twenty-six years retiring in 1996, and was a member of American Legion Post 206 in Middletown. Howard loved James Brown music, western movies and whole belly clams.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jaimila Fennell of Middletown and a granddaughter, Irnise Fennell of Baltimore, MD.
Howard was also predeceased by two sons, Howard F. Jones, Jr. and Julian C. Jones and a brother, Franklin A. Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10th at 11:00am at Cross Street AME Zion Church, 440 West Street, Middletown with the Rev. Moses L. Harvill officiating. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown with full military honors.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 10:00 to 11:00am at the church and in lieu of flowers, may make donations in Howard’s memory to the American Red Cross, 97 Broad Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
