Margaret Weaver Ruffin, 72, of Middletown, passed away on Sunday, January 31st at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in Tuskegee, AL on January 28, 1938 to the late McClaine and Estella (Keyes) Weaver, and was the oldest of twelve children. Margaret invited Christ into her life at an early age and continued to serve, trust and obey God throughout her life. She walked her life by faith and God ordered her foot steps. She was educated through the school system in Alabama where she graduated high school. She relocated to Middletown in September of 1966 and immediately became a faithful member under the late Lorenzo L. Woods, ministry. Margaret retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 23 ½ years of service and enjoyed serving others. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Sandra Crawford and Shirley Livingston both of Middletown; three brothers, Moses Weaver and his wife, Geridene of Tuskegee, AL, Oliver Weaver and his wife, Ruby of Tuskegee, AL, and Charles Hill and his wife, Rossie of Bloomfield; six sisters, Elsie Harris and Lillie Pickard of Middletown, Anne Hart of Cromwell, Mary and Rachel Weaver of Tuskegee, AL, and Norma Baines of New Orleans, LA; eight grandchildren, Paul, Corrine, Shavar, Charese, Charon, Marisha, Shayla Livingston and Mika Edmond; 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Edmond; a brother, James Weaver, and two sisters, Estella Weaver and Pearlene Chiles. Funeral services will be held at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 346 Butternut Street, Middletown, on Monday, February 8th at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dr. W. Vance Cotten, Sr. officiating and interment will follow in Indian Hill Cemetery in Middletown. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 and in lieu of flowers, may make donations in Margaret's memory to New Horizon Battered Women's Shelter, PO Box 1036, Middletown, CT 06457.
