Clara "Honnie" Johanna Ruimerman Lee, age 96, of Cromwell, Connecticut died at Apple Rehab in Rocky Hill, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

Clara was born on July 6, 1920, in Middletown, CT, the daughter of the late Jacob and Everdina (Brinkman) Ruimerman, who immigrated from the Netherlands in October of 1910. Clara was a Middletown resident until her marriage to Wesley C. Lee on May 24, 1941, at the Church of The Holy Trinity. She then resided in Cromwell for the remainder of her life. Wesley preceded her in death on June 19, 1982.

Clara was very proud of her Dutch heritage. She had many stories of growing up on the family farm on Old Mill Road and being one of ten children. She was a homemaker and loving spouse, mother, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of 16, all of whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by son, William C. Lee, Sr., and wife Paula of Portland, his children William C. Lee, Jr., and wife Sharon of Portland, Robert J. Lee and wife Jill of Cromwell, and Kristen Haynes and her partner Joshua Charlton of Bristol; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and husband David Todd of Williston, Vermont and Bozeman, Montana, her children Aimee Branciforte of East Hampton, Christy Branciforte and husband Joey Hass of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Jamie Branciforte of Colchester; Linda and husband Robert Shoaf of Aberdeen, Maryland; their daughter Meaghan Shoaf and partner Pablo Reyna of Belcamp, Maryland; great-grandchildren Mckenzie and Madyson Lee of Portland; Abigail, Madelyn, Jacob, and William Henry Lee of Cromwell; Caleb, Elijah, and Sophie Haynes of Bristol; Ethan, Jacob, Emma, and Wyatt Pawlak of East Hampton; Madeline and Liam Hass of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Caleb Reyna of Belcamp, Maryland. Also surviving is former daughter-in-law Diane Lee of Rocky Hill, Clara's brother, Edward Ruimerman of Washington State, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Hendrick, Jacob, Carl G., Walter J., and Harold J. Ruimerman and three sisters, Margaret (Peggy) C. Charbonnier, Wilhelmina (Helma) Gustafson, and Everdina Ruimerman.

We will miss you Mom, Grandma, Grammy, and Old Grandma. You will be forever in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8 at 11:00 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. Interment will be in the Cromwell Hillside Cemetery East. There will be visitation with family one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her memory to the Cromwell Fire Department Ambulance Division, P.O. Box 269, Cromwell, CT 06416. To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
