Emily Helen (Schur) Krieger, of Middletown, wife of the late Edward H. Krieger, died peacefully on March 31, 2017 at home. She was born in Worcester, MA on July 8, 1922 to Carrie (Volbrecht) Schur and Karl Schur.

Emily graduated from Auburn High School in Auburn, MA and Worcester Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse and, then, as a Recreation Director at several convalescent homes. She, also, volunteered at the Dinosaur Park in Rocky Hill, visited hospice patients and was a CT ombudsman for the elderly. Emily loved gardening, her canary, Tweety, and watching the UConn girl's basketball team on TV. She and her husband spent many fall vacations in Eastham, Cape Cod where they enjoyed walking the beaches and trails.

Emily is survived by her sister, Pauline McIlvaine of Auburn, MA; four daughters, Karen Smith, Marlene Krieger, Jane Krieger and Lisa Mitchell; was a beloved grandma to Rob Kieft, Erick Langseth, Jason Kieft, Joshua Mitchell, Katrina Wilson, Ryan Kieft, the late Jordan Winchester and many great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, husband and grandson, Emily was predeceased by her sister, Gretchen Moorey.
